Common Names:- None

Synonyms:- Cotyledon serrata, Orostachys serrata, Umbilicus serratus

Meaning:- Rosularia (L) Little-rose-like, reference to the leaf rosettes.
                  Serrata (L) Edged with forward pointing teeth, serrate.               
                
General description:- Herbaceous perennial.

Stems:-
1) Simple, glabrous.

Leaves:-
1) 10-30 x 5-8 mm, oblong-spathulate, obtuse or subacute, glabrous; margin
    cartilaginous, verrucose-denticulate or almost entire.
2) Peduncles 10-18 cm, ascending, hairy above.

Flowers:-
1) Flowers 6-8 mm, pedicellate, in narrow panicles.
2) Corolla pale purplish-red to whitish, tubular-campanulate, with erect, lanceolate,
    acuminate lobes somewhat longer than the tube.
3) Styles slender, straight.

Fruit:-
1) Follicles.

Habitat:- Crevices and ledges of limestone cliffs, stone walls of buildings, in
exposed or semi-shaded places. 0-1000 m. (occasionally to 1900 m).

Distribution:- Crete and Karpathos, E. Aegean, S. Turkey, Kythera and
Peloponnisos. Widespread on Crete, but not too common.

Flowering time:- Apr-June.
